We have a stupendous program at Trail called Art Volunteers in the Classroom, or as we call it, AVIC. A parent or two will volunteer their time to come into our room to teach the students about a particular artist and then the students get to do an art project reminiscent of that artist. This year, we had the awesome Mrs. W to come help. She did a terrific job with the kids! We learned about two artists: Leonardo daVinci and Norman Rockwell. For the first project, the students had to use little posable figures to come up with a composition. For our second composition, the students all brought props to use in a portrait similar to those on the Saturday Evening Post. Great work from our budding artists!
