 Here We GO! Here's to a great year of learning! Dealing with these kids on the first day?!? What a hoot!We played a get to know you game. I enjoyed learning about my new friends! We then got organized right away with our supplies and materials. One of the first things we do is talk about how our classroom is very much like the community outside our windows. We talk about how the hallways are like roads, our desks are like our homes, our cafeteria is like a restaurant; we are the citizens of our micro community. I especially liked how they compared the gas at the gas station to the knowledge that they gain to make them go. 😀  We next got to work on our first project: All About Me boards. We divided a piece of black construction paper into sections and then filled in the sections with our ages, what we wanted to be when we got older, our favorite colors, food, activities, and so forth. They turned out excellently! What a great crew! This is going to be a great year!
