Towards the end of the year, after we have learned about many historical figures, we complete one of our largest research projects...the Living Museum. The students all pick a historical figure from a list and then research them. We use the internet, books, and we even pull out the encyclopedias. We then present our findings to the parents (and grandparents, aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters, cousins, etc.) in the form of a Living Museum. The students dress up like their figure; they embody that figure. They pretend that they are that figure in a museum. When no one is in front of them, they are still and silent, like a statue in a museum. When a "visitor" comes to them, they spring to life, giving a summary of "their" life. It's a lot of fun, and the students pulled it off with extreme skills! 😃 The research was awesome, the costumes were awesome, and the presentations were awesome! We got so many compliments from everyone. Comments are closed.
